A lot of what defines the people at FC has already been described in this website’s section on “Culture” This is because we make a point of asking our people what makes them tick and strive to offer an environment where they will be happy and successful. The people at FC tend to share a number of characteristics. They tend to want a certain amount of freedom and the autonomy to do things their way. They like to take ownership and like to have control over whole projects as soon as possible. They don't like to do a narrow, specialist job or have work handed down to them. They like to have a handle on the 'big picture'. Many of them have entrepreneurial muscles to flex. Almost all have larger than average financial ambitions over the medium and longer term. Some know where they’d like to get to, but some don’t. Some don’t yet know how much they can achieve, but want to be given a go and just need to know that they won’t be condemned if they get things wrong from time to time. All of them look to the company to reward them properly for what they achieve, and in some way to share in the fruits of their achievement. There are strong personalities here, but also a general acceptance that nobody’s here to advance at anyone else’s expense. Some people are totally focused on the success of their own projects, others spend more time working for others and a more common good. Both are vital to us. |
